ORDER DATE Mar 5, 2020 ORDER NUMBER 04-04630-81337 Seller opticsguyca ORDER TOTAL US $49.61 AGILENT / HP 81000SI DIN CONNECTOR ( 322260125835 ) Delivered on Mar 6, 2020 Tracking number 9400108205497250771227 ITEM PRICE: US $45.00 (This is for TWO! Title is incorrect) The title is singular, but the photos all show two, and the Listing states: "2 x 81000SI -DIN (LSA) Connector interface." The description in the listing takes precedence over the title, as the title may be abbreviated. So no question, there are supposed to be two. But the pics from my reshipper Shipito show only one was posted to me. From:guy_d To:opticsguyca Sent:Mar-08-20 06:11 Hi, your package arrived at my reshipper, and there is only one connector. Your listing states "2 x 81000SI -DIN (LSA) Connector interface." and all three of your listing photos show two. Just because you left off the plural 's' in the page top title, doesn't make it OK to only send one. I am checking with the reshipper for any possibility they only showed one when there are two, but that _never_ happens. They are very conscientious. Their photos attached. Guy ------------------------ From:opticsguyca To:guy_d Sent:Mar-08-20 07:45 Guy, I apologize for the confusion. Price is per item. See my other listing for ST type connector. In the photos I show 3 together and states price per connector. On the description shows 3x but does not mean that is the price for three of them. On the condition states that is price per connector, and is how the listing should have been posted. Gaston ------------------------ From:opticsguyca To:guy_d Sent:Mar-08-20 07:47 See photo of ST connector listing. States per connector. even thought that on the description states 3 x 81000VI - ST (ATT) Connector interface. (as on the DIN connector". Gaston (Photo included from a different listing of his, in which it does state 'price is per item', with three connectors in photos. But so what, this is completely irrelevant.) ------------------------ From:guy_d To:opticsguyca Sent:Mar-08-20 09:01 What you wrote in OTHER listings has no bearing on this listing. How would I or anyone be expected to refer to other listings to interpret this one? THIS listing description states "2 x " and that means TWO OF. I'd been prepared to give you the benefit of the doubt that the ambiguity between the title (singular) and the description and photos (two items) was an accidental typo in the header. But you admit you pulled the same trick in another listing. So it was deliberate. Either you supply the second connector, or I'm reporting you to ebay for dishonest practices. What do you claim the "2 x" in the description is supposed to mean? "There are two in the photo"? Don't be ridiculous. You didn't accidentally type that, you did it intending to trick people. >the condition states that is price per connector Not in this listing it doesn't. And don't edit the listing, ebay can see that and it will just make things worse for you. >See photo of ST connector listing. States per connector. even thought that on the description states 3 x 81000VI - ST (ATT) Connector interface. (as on the DIN connector". Oh, that one is yours. I'd watched it because I'm learning about the various fiber connectors. But no intention of buying ST since I have two on my scope already. Anyway you're just digging your hole deeper. Why should I refer to some other listing? I suggest you immediately fix the misleading wording "3 x" in that other listing description. ------------------------ From:opticsguyca To:guy_d Sent:Mar-08-20 09:05 This listings were made 2-3 years ago when I had not knowledge of the multiple listing option. This was a mistake, and not in any way trying to be misleading. The other listing is going to be fix as soon as the offer I sent is expired. Cannot edit it now. If you feel that if you think that you have been wrong by this, I suggest to open a return. I have no problem with that. Gaston ------------------------ From:guy_d To:opticsguyca Sent:Mar-08-20 10:06 Oh good grief. You've had them sitting unsold for "2-3 years" and you're stubborn about not providing the 2nd one that the listing advertised for the price? The prices for various HP 81000x adapters are all over the place - I just bought one 81000AI Diamond HMS-10 for $20. 174025179843 Or I could have paid $113 via 254355583641 for the same thing. I _thought_ your listing was one of the sensibly priced ones. Look, I _can't_ return it, it's at a reshipper about to get consolidated to go to me in Australia. They don't have a process for returns and even if they did it would cost me. I have only two options: Wear double the expected price and give you a negative plus a writeup on my blog and the eevblog forum, or get the second connector I thought I paid for. The second option is much preferable for both of us. Your listing description says "2 x 81000SI -DIN (LSA) Connector interface." for $49.99 That's perfectly clear, and a reasonable price. If it's a mistake it's _your_ mistake. Unfixed for years. If you meant "$49 for one. I have two, like in the photos but you only get one" you could have written that. Just post the other one and we can forget about it. ------------------------ From:opticsguyca To:guy_d Sent:09-Mar-20 04:26 Your threats are appalling and you are being reported with eBay. If you choose to buy not directly, it is not an issue that I am responsible for. Gaston Tudury, PhD ------------------------ From:opticsguyca To:guy_d Sent:09-Mar-20 04:48 FC connectors sell for $20. Din connectors sell for more, as are not abundant. Again, open a return and send it back. Title states connector (no plural). Yes, was a mistake. You are also making a big issue about a $40 connector. not just me. Buy another one, from another seller if you feel so wronged. And do not forget to post all the incendiary threats that you made for an error that I offer a free return. Next time buy directly, and not use a consolidator. That is not know to me, and is YOUR mistake, not mine. Or you could have asked politely from the start, and not gone full GORILLA this fast. Gaston Tudury, PhD ------------------------ From:opticsguyca To:guy_d Sent:09-Mar-20 05:07 Oh, good grief, you have $1000 on your bank account and you do not want to give it to me for one bottle cap that I have to offer to you?! I am going to report you with the church of the Flying spaghetti monster and he will bring down a pest on you and all your electronics. See his link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flying_Spaghetti_Monster Gaston Tudury, PhD ------------------------ I see there is little point engaging in further communication with this person. He gives an impression of being unhinged. Time to make a complaint to ebay. Also, what is this "you have $1000 on your bank account"? Even if it was relevant or accurate, how is he able to see anything about my bank account? I recently experienced a spate of fraudulent withdrawals via my card details and had to cancel that card. What data source is this Gaston guy accessing? 20200310 3pm Continuing... Unable to find any mechanism in ebay to report 'seller did not send all the items advertised for the price' I contacted ebay support directly. They recommend and walked me through raising a claim via "purchase history --> item--> click 'Return' then select more, 'missing parts' and send message to seller requesting they supply the missing item." Then contact them again in 4 days if the seller refuses to make good. Ebay can't force him to send it, but he'll get a strike against his name. With that request I included this message: https://www.ebay.com/rt/ReturnCreateView?transactionId=2158289902011&itemId=322260125835&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l3185&fetchId=4630326703#create-page2-view Hi, I'm formally requesting you to provide the second connector. Your listing states "2 x 81000SI -DIN (LSA) Connector interface." and your photos show two, for the listed price. Only one arrived. You stated you only sent one, and are insisting you only needed to supply one, contrary to the listing description. This request is a necessary step in the process of raising an ebay complaint, under 'missing parts', as recommended by ebay resolution center. I am not returning the one I already received. The Ebay response page says: We'll send you an email when the seller responds to your request. If you have not agreed on a solution or the seller has not responded by Mar 13, 2020, you can ask us to step in and help. We'll email you when the seller responds to your request. If you're unable to work something out, you can ask us to step in and help beginning Mar 13, 2020. It appears the seller did not read my message, as he proceeded to issue a label for return postage.
