Checklist of parts associated with the lathe
This is from from memory, of what I saw during the inspection. Nick had agreed all these were included with the lathe sale, for the $500 final price that he proposed and I'd agreed to, and wrote in the agreement of sale that he signed.
On the lathe, loose or removable
- Tailstock, with morse taper chuck
- Big 4-jaw chuck. (should be easy to unscrew, just lock shaft. Do not drop chuck on rails.)
- Tool holder on saddle. Unscrew handle, remove holder, bolt, washers and T-slot piece, screw back together separately.
- Cutting fluid nozzle & hose.
On lathe stand tray
- Key for 4-jaw chuck
- The alloy expanding pipe center.
- everything else:
? key for tailstock chuck?
Nearby (in photo)
- Square tool holder on wall shelf behind lathe.
- Work steady on floor under lathe (and any others similar style but different sizes.)
- Handle on floor under lathe.
- Cutting fluid pump and hoses. (red box under lathe)
Other accessories lying around not in photo
- The lathe's left hand gearbox cover. It's on floor to the left of the lathe. Does not currently fit on lathe due
to the oversize gear mounted on lathe.
- Large 3-jaw chuck for the lathe.
(Was sitting on pallet on floor beside lathe. Check the 4-jaw key fits it; if not where is the key?)
- All the faceplates. Lying around in various places in the room. There seemed to be about 4 or 5 of them.
Some on floor to left of lathe, some on opposite side of the room.
With the lathe chuck removed, check if potential faceplates fit the screw thread on the lathe spindle.
Anything that fits, is for that lathe, no question. These are critical.
- The exposed gears on the left hand end of the lathe, are removeable and can be swapped with other gears.
There should be a set of these gears, maybe a dozen or so. They are irreplaceable.
As the gearbox is set up now, is silly. So it's very important to find the more appropriate gears.
I saw several other gears in the set, lying around. Any loose gears that have that same tooth pitch
and shaft size, WILL be for this lathe. Finding them all is important. Check any drawers near the lathe.
- Any cutting bits and bit-holders that are obviously for this lathe.
There will be some lying around that go with the 2 smaller lathes, ie not for this one. Size is the factor.
