On the 14th August 2017, around 1 am, David Spicer passed away.
David was my sole remaining old friend from the early years of my life. He'd had liver cancer for years, due to an incurable strain of Hep-C. He'd mentioned his specialists thought it was probably a contaminent in one of the innoculations he'd had in his early life. Apparently there's a demographic of such cases. There were many treatments and brief intervals of hope he'd been cured.
Rest in peace David, and thanks for so many interesting conversations.

His view over Manly beach, from that loft. Lovely isn't it?
Goodbye David.
On the 8th of August I'd driven up to Manly to visit him at home, when his health had taken a sharp turn for the worse. This was the last time I saw him alive.
David's girlfriend and daughter decided to have a small family-only funeral. Which was rather sad for all his other friends, me included.
I wanted to do a site capture of David's web site, http://aec-australia.xyz to include it here as a memorial. It was only a few pages of brief text, and some pics. He was a fine musician and electronics designer, but not an enthusiast of writing. Unfortunately his web host had suspended the account already. I was too slow, and it's gone. Neither archive.org or archive.is ever took snapshots. I doubt his girlfriend will know where a backup copy might be.
There are many stories to relate of David's spectacular technical achievements, but those will have to wait till this doesn't hurt so much.
