Details and history: Colong Foundation walk page and the walk route map

Much as I'd have liked to do the entire Katoomba to Picton walk, I was certain that would be beyond me. I'm 59 and haven't walked much lately. So signed up for 'Stage 4' — Unirover trail head on Kanangra plateau, to Yerranderie. On the google maps walk route that's the green segment.

Rather over-optimistically when preparing for the walk I bought enough food to last for stage 5 as well; two days of road slog from Yerranderie to Picton. Hoping that if the two very rough days of Stage 4 didn't kill me, I'd be able to continue on for another two of road walking. Ha ha... that was not to be. By the end of the Stage 4 walk I was completely stuffed. Next morning the so-called legs were barely working enough to hobble around.

A great walk though, in perfect weather and excellent company. I've always wanted to do the Unirover Trail, and it was wonderful to get back down to the Kowmung again. Thanks to everyone involved in organizing the event.
