Since the interior of the containment vessel is normally dry, at atmospheric pressure and below the boiling point of water, it's pretty likely metal structures like that would be painted with fairly ordinary rust-preventive paint. And we don't know what color that paint was originally. Maybe it was white, and in that photo we're seeing explosion/fire blackening. Or maybe it was originally black. Who knows?

These days those structures have been exposed to hot radioactive steam for nearly two years. In addition to whatever happened there during the meltdown and PCV rupture. Hence the extreme paint failure and rust blistering seen (the orange stuff.)

Now, is enenews still banning me from posting? Let's see.

Ha ha ha… yes, you are still effectively banning me. Without actually having the guts to say so, or defend your decision in any way. Good one, Enenews. Still think the 'green strip' at the sinkhole was *ever* a road? Still think the green stuff is 'grass'? You're an idiot. It's mostly floating swamp rushes, and always was, all along the entire pipeline clearing green strip. Notice it just keeps on floating, and even moves around, when the 'ground' underneath slides away into the sinkhole? How do you possibly imagine 'grass' would do that? Have you ever actually *seen* a swamp?

Nothing ever could 'drive' on that other than skimmer boats, which just skid over the rushes. But I'd love to see you attempt to drive a car there.

Jees. To think I'm banned from posting on a popular Fukushima news site, just because you're too stupid to sensibly interpret aerial photos of a swamp, and get in a snit when someone points out you're wrong, and it's perfectly normal to see a boat on that 'road'.

Makes me seriously question your motivations for running this site at all. And wonder who would run a site "established shortly after the Fukushima Daiichi disaster in March 2011" yet remain faceless. Hmmm... now *who* could that be?
